Facilities Management firm creates jobs and revenue growth thanks to Boost

A Burnley Facilities Management provider has created 12 new jobs and grown revenue by £100,000 as a direct result of taking part in the Boost Growth Mentoring Programme.

Service Alliance Limited generated the extra turnover after winning five new contracts with locally based companies after operations director, Simon Hook, received growth mentoring support from Boost.

Boost is Lancashire’s Business Growth Hub and is led by the Lancashire LEP (Local Enterprise Partnership) and Lancashire County Council and supported by funding from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).

Founded in 2005, the company delivers facilities management services from office cleaning to complete building and ground maintenance solutions, with a particular focus on providing high levels of customer service from its dedicated workforce of more than 180.

Service Alliance has been expanding its services in recent years and now carries out facilities maintenance work at over 70 locations throughout Lancashire, Cumbria, Greater Manchester and West Yorkshire. Its client base comprises private and public-sector businesses, as well as education sector organisations.

Service Alliance’s commitment to delivering a first-class service is evidenced by UKAS certified ISO 9001 and 14001 management systems, CHAS and Constructionline accreditations.

Operations director, Simon Hook, embarked on the growth mentoring programme after a direct approach and introduction from Community & Business Partners.

He received 12 hours of 1-1 mentoring support from specialist Community & Business Partner’s mentor Paul Bury.

Simon commented: “Paul has been excellent. We have had a great relationship which I hope continues after the programme. Paul’s advice and guidance in marketing has helped Service Alliance in many areas, bringing in great ideas that have been put into practice, including new brochures, and pop ups.”

Paul said: “I was able to help Simon establish clear unique selling points brand values based on customer requirements and advise him on communicating these in an impactful way. We also worked on developing a clear communication strategy, campaigning for new business every day, and developing strong visual and marketing collateral.

“Simon really did respond to the support and he was great to work with, I think Service Alliance have a great future ahead of them.”
