Re#Ashed Community Café Catering Assistant

Based in Energy Zone, Newfield Drive, Blackburn BB2 3UA

6 hours per week, Monday to Friday.  Days of cover to be arranged at Interview but flexibility is essential

Hours of work 11am until 2pm

Role overview

We are looking for a Catering Assistant to work in our newly designed Re#ashed Community Café.

Successful Applicant will need to ensure that all catering duties conform with the Food Hygiene Regulations.  Qualifications in this area are essential.

You will need to be an excellent communicator not only with members of the public but also other professionals.

You must be able to work and organize a team of volunteers who are on shift that day.

Design and develop a menu going forward.

Cook and serve food under pressure.

Further position details:

·         A Probationary period of 3 months will be in place

·         This is a fixed term contract for 2 years

·         A contributory pension is available after the 3 month probationary period, subject to the Auto Enrolment Rules

·         5 weeks paid holiday plus Bank / Public Holidays per annum, pro rata

·         The hours of work are between Monday-Friday and within the times of 11am and 2pm on a rota.

Game Changers Project Assistant

Based in Energy Zone, Newfield Drive, Blackburn BB2 3UA and for occasional travel within East Lancashire

16 hours per week over 3 days on a rota within Monday – Saturday and within 9 am – 7pm

CBP has designed the Game Changers Project through consultation with the community. This is an exciting activity based project to engage with and support people aged 25+ in the Blackburn with Darwen Highercroft Ward, to address their wellbeing issues and seek improved wellbeing. They will address their barriers and overcome challenges; physical, psychological, social, financial and where applicable move towards or back into employment or self-employment.
Role overview
We are looking for a Project Assistant to work on the project until October 2020, supporting the Project Manager. The Project Assistant should be able to demonstrate through the application/interview process that they can support people to engage in activities that will improve the beneficiaries wellbeing.
You will need to be an excellent communicator and able to speak to partners, beneficiaries, volunteers (including mentors), and work closely with the Project Manager. You should be empathic and aware of the challenges faced by disadvantaged groups that experience low wellbeing and experience of working with communities is advantageous. The role will be very interesting and varied and include key holding responsibility.
Further position details:
• Fixed term contract ending on October 25th 2020.
• A contributory pension is available after the 3 month probationary period.
• 5 weeks paid holiday plus Bank / Public Holidays per annum.
• The hours of work are between Monday-Saturday and within the times of 9.00am and 7.00pm on a rota. If you work over 6 hours on any day you will take a half hour unpaid lunch. Over 3 days you will work 16 hours. Due to the nature of the beneficiary engagement staff is required to remain flexible (via a planned rota) across these times and to meet funder expectations and deadlines.
• Travelling expenses will be paid for all journeys required for work, excluding travel from home to Energy Zone. The current rate is 45p per mile for use of a car.
• The nature of the post may require some travel within the East Lancashire area. A full driving licence is essential, and use of a car would be beneficial but is not essential.
• Duties will also include working in our new Community Café as required
