WHAT IS WATCHTOWER?

Watchtower is a two year £1,000,000 initiative from Lancashire County Council to support the Advanced Engineering and Manufacturing (AEM) sector targeted at tackling some of the economic impacts of Covid-19, the current climate and stimulating growth. The temporary collapse in demand for AEM products as a result of lockdowns, impacted on the aerospace, automotive and power markets and supply chains. In turn, significant numbers of high value jobs had been furloughed and potentially lost, impacting on Lancashire’s skills base and wealth generating capacity.

As a result, a series of support packages and services have been created and includes support for companies looking to innovate, diversify and a talent match service where we support your organisation with retention, redundancies, and recruitment, ensuring we keep our highly skilled talent within the sector and county.

HOW CAN WE HELP YOU?

PURPOSE

To track and trace our highly skilled workforce that have been made redundant or currently out of work within the sector

IDENTIFY

Both businesses that are making redundancies or those that are recruiting

SUPPORT

Individuals with a series of provisions to enable them to find work utilising our internal teams, our mentor and coaching bank and external provisions

RECRUIT

Work with recruiting businesses to match suitable candidates to their needs with an effective recruitment system and ongoing support

RECRUITMENT PORTAL

CBP provide an end-to-end recruitment service to support and link Lancashire companies, specifically those in the engineering and manufacturing industry and supply chain with individuals currently out of work, unemployed or at risk of redundancy.
