Lancashire-based Community & Business Partners (CBP) has launched a pioneering support group to empower leaders in the not-for-profit industry to navigate the growing challenges facing the sector.

Led by industry experts, the Third Sector Peer Support Group brings together professionals dedicated to making a difference in their communities, offering them a platform to share knowledge, resources, and experiences.

As demand for services within the not-for-profit sector continues to rise, professionals working in the field often find themselves grappling with unique challenges.

These challenges, encompassing everything from fundraising and volunteer management to sustainability and regulatory compliance, can feel overwhelming.

CBP has created a safe space for peers to come together, collaborate and strengthen the sector’s impact.

Deborah Blades, Community & Business Development Manager at CBP, said: “We recognise the incredible work that not-for-profit professionals do every day, and we understand the unique challenges they face. By bringing third sector experts and peers together in a supportive environment, we aim to empower them to continue making a meaningful impact in their communities.”

The Third Sector Peer Support provides a supportive an inclusive environment for professionals to connect, learn, and grow. By facilitating open discussions and knowledge sharing, attendees will gain valuable insights into best practices, innovative solutions, and strategies for overcoming sector-specific challenges.

The support group will feature guest speakers who will conduct a series of informative masterclasses on a wide range of topics including marketing, fundraising, and commercialisation.

It will also serve as a network for individuals to build meaningful connections with their peers, fostering a sense of community and unity within the not-for-profit sector.

The sessions are fully funded by Community & Business Partners, using their own community fund, which is built from their unique CBP Membership contributions.

CBP believes that everyone in the third sector should have the opportunity to benefit from peer support, regardless of their organisation’s size or financial constraints. This commitment to inclusivity highlights CBP’s dedication to the benefit of the sector as a whole.

The first session of the Third Sector Peer Support Group took place on 6 September.
